Now that satellites & inland monitoring stations measure much of Antarctica,has the “cooling myth” been voided?
A climatologist from the WAIS (The West Antarctic Ice Sheet Initiative) was telling me that before Antarctica had enough inland (non-coastal) monitoring stations and satellite monitoring “sweeps”, the bias of coastal station measurements used to give the impression that Antarctica might be in a cooling trend. If that is the case, where are the global warming skeptics getting their current claims that Antarctica is getting colder while the Arctic region is getting warmer? Are they simply using old data from many years ago? Or is some new factor or theory behind this ever-colder-Antarctica claim?
